Beatriz Morales, born in Mexico City in 1981, developed a self-taught approach to painting at an early age. In 2001, she left her home country to study painting and fashion design in Florence and Berlin. In her multifaceted oeuvre, Morales combines abstract expressionist approaches with textile art and soft art.
Morales’ work has been shown widely in Mexico, Europe and the USA in recent years, including at the XVII Biennial of Contemporary Painting at the Museo Tamayo, Mexico, the solo exhibition “Planos Disfrazados” at the Museum of Contemporary Art MACAY in Mérida, Museo de la Cancillería (Mexico City), Edith Farnsworth House (Plano, Illinois, USA), Praxis Gallery (New York, USA), Chert Lüdde (Berlin), Comfort Station (Chicago, USA) Frieder Burda Museum (Baden Baden) and many more.
