Lecture # 006-25 |

The question of how contemporary painting can move back and forth between abstraction, figuration and object
will be a central theme of the week. Drawing on the diversity of today’s sources, participants in this course can create complex contexts of meaning and significance through painting. In addition,
conceptual positions in painting will be put forward for debate.
The course is aimed at experienced painters and is intended to
help clarify technical and content-related questions in relation to their own
work. The question of how painting has developed over time from a
individual painting to a body of work will be the focus of individual and also
group-centered discussions. It would be useful if, in addition to the
work being created on site, the participants can also show their own work from recent years, well
documented.
For the group discussions, references to the history of
painting will be made and, above all, contemporary positions will be discussed.
